Rubem holds a degree in Electronic Technology from the Institute of Technology of the Amazon (1989), a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Amazonas (1989), a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from UNIFEI (1995) and a PhD in Energy Systems Planning UNICAMP (2000). He is currently a Tenured Professor at UFAM and Coordinator of the Brazilian side of the Star Energy Project. He is currently in a post-doctoral role.
